The Tattie Hoaker farm is a beautiful place. It lies between Benwiskin mountain and the Atlantic Ocean in North County Sligo. The farm produces vegetables that are certified 100% organic by the IOFGA (Irish Organic Farmers and Growers Association).
The Tattie Hoaker is also a distribution partner for SuperNemos, a wonderful new product that has been developed in Ireland and controls pests without the use of chemicals for both commercial growers and domestic fruit and vegetable growers.
In 2013 The Tattie Hoaker established the Save Our Planet Awards to acknowledge the efforts of individuals and community groups here in the North-West of Ireland to promote sustainability and renewable energy.
We have four polytunnels at present which allow us to grow early and late crops during the year. The farm produces a wide range of vegetables according to the demand and interests of the local community. We operate a Community Supported Farm Project, whereby anyone can come and help out with the farm work on a voluntary or exchange system. This project is now entering its third year and has proven to be a huge success, so please come and give it a try – it’s amazing how enjoyable it can be for everyone. We are often assisted by WWOOFers (Willing Workers on Organic Farms) and by local volunteers who enjoy working here and get paid in local produce!
